I. Types of Membership
A. Builder-Developer: $620.00/ year
B. Associate: $550.00/year
C. Affiliate: $270.00/year
Annual dues include membership fee to the National Association of Home Builders, the Texas Association of Builders and the Big Country Home Builders Association. Membership shall begin with the month of approval by local board of directors and expire on the last day of the 12th month thereafter. *Requirement: Must submit an application signed by a member in good standing, which includes signing a copy of the HBA Code of Ethics.
**Builder requirements: must have built two (2) houses within the last two (2) years, in addition to meeting any necessary city, county and/or state requirements. ***Developer requirements: developments must be approved by the city or county. Applicant shall submit with application, a copy of approved plat. No customer references shall be required.
****Affiliate memberships are applicable only to employees or sub-contractors of associate members.
Monthly Membership Luncheons: 1st Thursday each month (unless otherwise noted), Abilene Country Club Ballroom, 4039 S Treadaway, 12 Noon.
Memberships pay for 1 lunch per month. Guests, employees and additional attendees will be charged $16.50/plate.
Membership Benefits: WE ENCOURAGE DOING BUSINESS WITH BCHBA MEMBERS... and members “in good standing” are referred on inquiry calls.

Annual membership fees for builder and architect members also include $15.00 for a one-year subscription to BUILDER Magazine. Members may not deduct subscription prices from total dues.
I agree to abide by the constitution, bylaws and Code of Ethics of the Local Association to which this membership application is being directed, of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) of the United States with which it is affiliated, and the Texas Association of Builders (TAB). A remittance fee of $ representing my annual membership fee accompanies this application.
I understand that dues payments are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. However fee payments may be deductible as an ordinary business expense, subject to exclusion for lobby activity. Because a portion of your membership fee in 2015 is used for lobbying by NAHB and TAB, $111.22 is not deductible for income tax purposes. For an Affiliate member the amount is $20.52.
Upon approval of membership, I understand that by providing the fax number and e-mail address above and signing this form, on behalf of any company/organization specified above, I consent to receive faxes, automated phone calls, e-mails sent by or on behalf of the BCHBA, NAHB and TAB, and authorize payment by credit card if that is my payment of choice. I further represent that I am authorized to give this consent on behalf of my company/organization.
CODE OF ETHICS
MEMBERS shall constantly seek to provide better values, so that an even greater share of our people may enjoy the benefits of home ownership.
MEMBERS shall strive to develop efficiency of the home building industry to the end that labor may receive its just and proper reward.
MEMBERS shall at all times contribute their knowledge in the home building industry to the best interest of those they serve.
MEMBERS shall not knowingly enter into any contract, the terms of which are designed to imperil the rights of either labor or the suppliers of materials to receive a fair return for services or goods furnished.
MEMBERS shall not obtain any business my means of fraudulent statements or by use of implications unwarranted by fact of reasonable probability.
MEMBERS shall comply both in spirit and letter with rules and regulations prescribed by law and government agencies for the health, safety and progress of the community,
MEMBERS shall be alert to examine proposed or enacted state and local legislation detrimental to social, economic and political progress.
MEMBERS shall not perform or cause to be performed, any act which would tend to reflect on, or bring into disrepute any part of the home building industry.
